Want to Lose the Training Wheels? Lose the Pedals Too!

Maybe off the topic but a good tip if you can use it.

My daughter had been practicing riding her bicycle without training wheels for weeks without success. Then my husband read that if you remove the pedals and let the child just practice the balancing part without worrying about pedaling they will be riding without training wheels in no time. It makes sense because it's not the pedaling they need to learn, it's the balancing. After maybe 6 hours of just pushing herself around without pedals and training wheels, Daddy put the pedals back on and like magic she was riding like a pro! Well, like a pro that just learned to ride a bicycle without training wheels.

I always believe practice makes perfect. Like when potty training pull-ups help but when you replace the pull-ups with underwear, you'd be suprised to see how fast they will train themselves to go to the bathroom. No child wants that wet feeling on them. :)
